puppy pawprints

Jingle Bells,

Jingle Bells..

Short legs in the snow!

Oh, if I could only sing...

Up the steps I'd go!

Leaving pawprints

in the snow..

SNOW DAY ..

What a snowy day we've got going on.. it's beginning to look a abit more CHRISTMASY ... and our STORE-BOUGHT, SCENTLESS tree, (complete with lights) helps. Our little ELFIN did a good job. This is what I discovered, upon arising to the scent of baking cranberry bread... a tiny green bootie, much like the one found under the TREE... (note the tiny teeth marks in the tiny mandarin orange!)

Today was the deadline... it was TREE-DAY or no TREE-DAY... but alas we once again left the house in search of LUNCH... and to do a bit of shopping... you can only imagine our SHOCK and AMAZEMENT when upon returning home, there was our STORE-BOUGHT, NO-SCENT, WELL-LIT TREE all set up with our own little ELFIN-CORGI looking proud as punch..'Yes!'. she had accomplished what we couldn't, all by herself... makes you truly want to believe ....

.. I found this 'little feller' playing on my screen...
he's doing his best to drum up some
Christmas Spirit...
still no tree-up nor is there one in view.

PERFECT FAMILY GIFT

... this morn I awakened early around 5:30 a.m. As I crept out of my bed being careful not to disturb my bed-mate, I thought I'd 'sneak downstairs to take a PEEK', maybe, just maybe catching a glance of CHRISTMAS SPIRIT! .. alas.. nothing there but my dirty basement... not even a crumb! I shambled up the stairs but found nothing there either. Maybe today when we get our 'store-bought, non-frozen, scentless, complete with LIGHTS' tree set up some Spirit will spill out of the box... along with a dead bug or two...

SHOULD BE BUSY...

Wednesday.... 'tis a quiet day amonst my blogger family... my mind is slow.. I can blame it on the COLD... though it was 1* this morning and only got down to -7. I looked at the CALENDAR and NEXT thursday is IT! ... not quite done with what I'm doing... how about you girls? We'll brave our way out to Big Wally and hopefully get a good start on getting done with everything. We still don't have our tree up.... HO-HO-HO.. I need some Christmas Spirit!

Good Monday to ALL of my readers! I think I found the secret which I'll pass along to my less-than Voluptuous grand-daughter. Just be careful how much you use! My outing last night went well... the Nutcracker was colorful and LOUD! Those little children must all suffer from hearing loss.. it was fun. ..but -4 when we came out with THAT good stiff Hellgate wind... so glad we live on this side of the MOUNTAIN, though. .. no snow blowing down our chimney.. no chimney either...

Lookin' YUM!

Altogether now.. YUM! Creme-filled Brownies ...

how could you go wrong?.. not in our family..

(for the recipe go to Hersheys.com.)

Speaking of the weather... it's a good time to be using the oven to help heat the house.

We were out in'it' last night and the Hellgate Canyon is one of the coldest places (in Missoula). I took Traci out when we got home and her feet kept freezing up... next dog is going to be trained to use 'Piddle Pads'... (probably not).

I'm going to the Nutcracker with Sandi tonight.. keep us in your thoughts as we fight our way through the BLINDED BLIZZARD looking for the car!

SNOW BLINDED

We got SNOW!.. 'sorry' ...did that make me sound like a CALIFORNIAN? Mark, (our weatherman) predicted 3-4 inches.. mayhaps we got that much. It's just that we mowed the lawn this week and it didn't look anything like Christmas out there. Now Dasher and Prancer should have an easier go of it. And the 'other' big thing was last night's football game in Virginia.
Our 'REDNECK, BLUE COLLAR'
GRIZ beat #1 James Madison. ..
in spite of the 'instant replays'!
GO GRIZ!

You're not WELCOME!

I had good intentions of blogging last night... as I was pecking away at the keyboard.. ( I'm not a typist nor will ever be).. a spidery-like insect skittered across the keys... eek! ..I said... to which he stopped, took a look around.. (he had amazing little bright eyes) and dove under the 'ENTER' key.. (Gosh Sakes! ..do you suppose he could read?) ..not knowing for sure where he'd pop out next, I sat back and waited... then a hairy leg stuck out at the 'HOME' key, disappeared, then poked out the 'BACKSPACE' key.. I tapped a couple of keys thinking to drive him out ( not knowing the workings of the keys, I wasn't sure if I might not smash him, not my idea of good) .. I was thinking if he would get under the 'DELETE' the game would be over. .. guess he still had more stuff to do 'cause he finally slithered through by the 'SCROLL' key, took a quick peek and hurried across the keyboard, looking for 'ESCAPE'.. I snatched him up with a used kleenex and that ends this TALE. .. not a Happy Christmas story but life happens...
THE END

..Through the WOODS

Oh Christmas Tree...

This year we missed the annual trek into the woods for the TREE. Dale sent this pic of Dryse cooking a hotdog... looks like the way I like it. Mine usually get dumped into the fire.. just for extra flavor! Note the lack of snow... I remember the year Kayla and Clem got their hair full of little 'sticky burrs' ...

A good start to the week... the bed stripped and sheets already in the dryer, a load of towels being washed as I sit here..
and then seeing an 'oh so cute' picture of
Jonah and Lucy
with their
Christmas tree!
Their gramma Judi used to get so excited for Christmas .. Dale did too but didn't always show it.

It's good to have little kids around during the Holidays...

Gosh Sakes! Where did this week go?
.. seem's like we were just driving back from Simms .. and now we're missing the kids and wishing we all lived closer. Guess we're lucky we get to see most of them at least twice a year. Today we went to a 'Lady' game.. we won. This was Robin's #702 win in his career (32 years at the same school) out of 899 games. They honored him with a plaque and a pretty quilt made by a couple of his players. Very nice. They gave out T-shirts and stamped envelopes with Robin's pic on the stamp. (and the T-shirt)
Also the guy Griz beat Weber yesterday so we play again next week-end.
My TV watching tonight is the last leg of the 'Amazing Race'... I wonder if the Brother & Sister team will win.. they seem to get along surprisingly well.
I whipped up some brownies which are actually more like cake..when I don't follow a recipe I never know what I'm making.. we don't care..

After doing a survey (conducted in the privacy of my home) I've decided that I have the

With all the stuff going on in
'OUR WORLD'
it's nice to know our family continues to keep on 'being good people' !

gloomy...

..gloomy day..

is what we have. The fog went away and now we have rain .. I don't like rain ..(in June, it's okay)

I much prefer 'white' snow! .. unless you're driving the highways.

So far our winter is off to a slow start... no 'snow folks' popping up anywhere ...

and

I might add, it's lousy

Christmas Tree

cutting weather!

(can you say 'bad mood'?)
